When I was in England I was generally regarded as being a bit right wing... actually a lot right wing.... I now sit betweet 2 americans and have discovered that actually I am a dangerous pinko leftie. I have never heard such ludicrous ravings before as I have from these 2. They view Bush with great suspicion as being a bit of a closet socialist, and they talk non-stop about the "primaries" currently getting under way in the states and have views on each and every candidate, who they regard as equally contemptuous, which they expound for hours at a time, and usually finish with the following observation - "he's a fucking nutjob".

And the really scary thing is the actual election is 11 months away so I have to put up with this tedious crap till then, and then no doubt there will be endless post-mortem's after the election... Lord give me strength (and I'm a confirmed atheist!)
